The New Year's celebrations are over leaving behind the question of, ‘What to do next in the way of goal-setting', Indeed, the meta questions that come after seem equally, if not more, pertinent: 'Why is it important to me to have goals? What is plan B, plan C, plan Z', etc.
While I don't mind setting goals, I realised some time ago that being too strict in chasing those goals, without any flexibility, can be detrimental. This is especially true when obsessing over goals can lead to anxiety.
Fundamentally, we are evolving creatures. To fear that we are not evolving, even though when looking back so much has improved in our lives, is harmful to our Inner Being.
If like me you spark off ideas that rarely get implemented but seem to mushroom and unfold in the most peculiar ways, get ready for a roller-coater ride..
You may start off at point A hoping joyfully to be at point B in such-or-such a timescale. But instead you’ve headed off the sat nav at some juncture near point Z in a town called ‘where-the-Ph****k'. Yikes and how did that happen?
Yet, to not boldly go (excuse the split infinitive) and enjoy the process along the way confounds the very reason for embarking on the said amazing journey that is LIFE!
So, here is my personal mantra for having a non-judgement time on the journey:
Breathe and be Kind
Rest and Digest
...with the fanciest journal ever, celebrate your intention
Bless your already abundant life
Remember to laugh
Seema
